Care Instructions

Like fine furniture or tailored clothing, Meissen fittings maintain their brilliance and performance through thoughtful upkeep. From chrome to double black, brushed stainless steel and satin brass, these steps preserve both the beauty and the longevity of every finish.

Meissen care guide: never use abrasive or coarse surface materials to clean. Avoid harsh cleaners with chlorine, bleach or acid; use only warm water.

Routine care

  • Rinse with warm waterWarm water alone is sufficient for daily cleaning.
  • Dry with a soft clothAfter rinsing, always dry the surface. This prevents water spots and mineral residue from settling.
  • Use only soft materialsA soft microfibre cloth or a non-abrasive sponge.
  • Clean weeklyOr every 2 days in coastal areas.

Never use

  • Coarse sponges, steel wool or scouring padsThese scratch delicate finishes and strip protective coatings.
  • Chlorine, bleach or acidsIncluding vinegar, formic acid, hydrochloric acid and "limescale remover" sprays. They corrode finishes and compromise seals.
  • Alcohol, peroxide or quat-heavy disinfectantsNot on the finish.

If a harsh cleaner was used

Rinse the product immediately with clean water, then dry it. This prevents irreversible corrosion.

Limescale

Powder-coated finishes, particularly around the aerator housing and dome cover, can show lime-scale deposits more visibly. Wipe these areas regularly with warm water and dry promptly. If needed, gently remove the aerator for a quick rinse.

Meissen care guide: drying the surface with a soft cloth after rinsing reduces water deposits. Clean faucets weekly, or every 2 days in coastal areas.

Disinfecting

Use a soft cloth dampened with warm water and a tiny amount of pH-neutral soap. Rinse with clean water and dry fully.

Your guarantee

With this simple routine, Meissen fittings will perform well beyond their 5 and 15-year guarantee benchmarks. Abrasive tools or harsh and acidic chemicals can damage finishes and may affect guarantee coverage.
